How a book gets made

Six steps, no surprises at the printer

Every project follows the same path, whether it's a 16-page reader or a 400-page textbook.

  1. Brief and specs

    Trim size, page count, grade level, brand rules and the print spec, agreed before a single frame is drawn.

  2. Style sheet and templates

    Paragraph, character, object and table styles plus master pages, so every chapter looks like the same book.

  3. Layout

    Text flows, images placed, spreads balanced — with automation doing the repetitive work.

  4. Corrections

    Rounds tracked against marked-up PDFs until the author and editor sign off.

  5. Preflight and accessibility

    Fonts, links, colour, bleed and tagging checked, so the PDF works on press and with screen readers.

  6. Delivery

    Print PDF, packaged InDesign files and accessible PDF, named the way your production team expects.
